Home Page > Media > The Viking's Tale The Viking's TaleThe Viking’s Tale New research on a group of artefacts found in a gravel pit at islandbridge in 1866 is casting new light on one of the earliest Viking inhabitants of Dublin. The Viking's Tale from Dublin City Public Libraries on Vimeo. Dr Stephen Harrison received his PhD from Trinity College Dublin on insular Scandinavian burials and has worked on the Irish Viking Graves project based in the National Museum of Ireland. He is now working as an Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences Post Doctoral Researcher in Archaeology at University College Dublin. His recent publication 'Bride Street Revisited: Viking burial in Dublin and beyond' has been published in the latest Medieval Dublin (vol X), Four Courts Press. This talk was part of Tales of Medieval Dublin: A series of monthly lunchtime lectures which took place during 2011 at the Wood Quay Venue, Civic Offices, Wood Quay. The series was presented by the Friends of Medieval Dublin and Dublin City Council.
