DatabasesParish Records. The Database of Baptisms for Dublin Parishes, the Database of Marriages for Dublin Parishes, and the Database of Burials for Dublin Parishes, compiled by the Dublin Heritage Group for Dublin City Public Libraries, have been incorporated into the Irish Genealogy website and form a significant portion of the total records available on that website. Access the Irish Genealogy website and the various other databases provided here courtesy of Dublin City Public libraries, via the links below. The records so compiled are provided for personal research purposes "as is". On 23 January 2008 the eleventh annual Sir John T. Gilbert Lecture was held at Dublin City Library and Archive, Pearse Street. The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Paddy Burke, was chairman for the evening. City Librarian, Deirdre Ellis-King, welcomed the capacity audience and introduced the Lord Mayor. The eleventh lecture was given by Dr Christine Casey, School of Art History and Cultural Policy, UCD. Dr Casey’s lecture, River, rivalry and revolt: history of the built fabric of Dublin City, was much enjoyed by the audience. This lecture will be published by Dublin City Public Libraries before the end of 2008. Councillor Burke formally launched the newly published tenth Sir John T. Gilbert Lecture: Michael Corcoran’s ‘Through streets broad and narrow’: a history of Dublin’s Trams. Details of Michael Corcoran's publication. |
