You are here: Home Page > Dublin Heritage Group The Dublin Heritage GroupAbout:The DHG was established in 1989 by the Dublin City Librarian and Deputy City Librarian as a special study initiative aimed at assisting in the preservation and dissemination of material relating to the history and heritage of Dublin. Throughout the 1990s, the DHG facilitated a FAS training process which led to more than 500 participants on Group training programmes gaining skills in computer technologies, in the indexing of genealogical interest material and in associated research projects. The skills gained assisted participants in availing of employment opportunities while adding to the story of Dublin City and the surrounding area. Indices, databases and exhibition material created through the training programmes are included in the heritage collections of Dublin City Public Libraries. |
